Marino is a cinematographer from Vitoria-Gazteiz, Spain, currently based in Madrid. He started filming music videos at a very young age and gradually moved towards commercials and narrative.
In 2017, he shot his first documentary feature film, “Volar”, as director of photography. The premiere took place at the Zinemaldi Festival de Cine de San Sebastian and the film won Best Foreign Documentary Award at the Annual CPH Film Festival 2019. His short film “Polvo Somos”, directed by Estíbaliz Urresola, won the Audience Biznaga de Plata Award at Malaga Film Festival and was selected to the Short List of the 36th edition of the Goya Awards. In 2022, he shot his first feature “21 Paraíso”, directed by Nestor Ruiz Medina. He was candidate for best cinematography for the Goya Awards 2024. Furthermore, the short film “Chaval» was nominated for the 37th edition of the Goya Awards.
The basque DOP has also worked in Portugal, Mexico, USA, Canada and France, on projects for companies and platforms such as Amazon, Movistar+, Samsung, McDonald’s, Budweiser, Sony, Universal and Warner Music, among others.
Currently, Marino is in the pre-production process of a serie and a feature film.
